RECOMMENDATION
I recently ran into a friend of mine, also a former athletic director. A few years ago, he had called me for a recommendation for a coaching candidate for his head football job. The coach he was calling about had coached for us for a few years, then went to another school – out of state. My friend, in conversation last week said he never forgot my recommendation: “He is a Cadillac in a world of Yugo’s.” His coach has been their three year, and has taken his team to the state tournament all three years, and made it to the semi-finals once. He is not a Yugo.
