Wrestlers in Business
I recently went to a kickoff of a non-profit business enterprise entitled “Wrestlers in Business” A great concept, one with terrific potential, and entirely new, as far as I k now, to the business world. The idea of bringing those together with a common bond via a sport to assist in helping each other in business and in life. Following is some of the information I gathered at this “Kickoff Party.”
What is Wrestlers in Business? A non-profit organization with a goal of uniting the hundreds of thousands of wrestlers who have graduated from the sport and are now in their respective careers.
Mission: to establish a community of wrestlers who commonly share in the interst of helping each other in business and in life, while supporting and strengthening the sport that made us who we are today.
Purpose – Community: access to wrestlers in business throughout the country, as well as your local chapter. Seek advice/help from fellow wrestlers. No solicitation policy, but you can seek out wrestlers with whom you would like to conduct business with. Open online forums on various topics on wrestling, business, and more. Learn best practices with wrestlers who share business interests who are located throughout the U.S.
Purpose – Careers. Online job board dedicated to the wrestling community. Post your jobs to the wrestling communtiy. Apply for jobs that are searching for wrestlers like you. Graduating from College? Wrestlers in Business becomes the resource for you.
Purpose – Advocacy: Provide financial support to anything wrestling; including funding wrestling programs, providing financial assistance to wrestlers in need, and financially supporting the fight to save college wrestling programs who are in danger of being dropped.
Benefits to join: Access to thousands of wrestlers in business throughout the country. Create and maintain an online profile – use this profile to educate the community on your personal and business interests. Meet your local wrestling community offline. Online job board dedicated to the wrestling community. As our community grows, we will partner with companies to add value back to our community.

I am convinced, Wrestlers in Business could be a terrific benefit to thousands. I do know when I want things done, I have always gone to former wrestlers. My Lawyer is a former wrestler, my realestate agent is a former wrestler, my travel agent is a former wrestler, and the gentleman I sell equipment for is a former wrestler. I just trust these people.
